  1. Please read this document and make sure you understand it. It explains the information collected and displayed by Jireh Information Systems (JIS) on its website, (K12online), how the information is used and with whom the information is shared. By using this website, you will be deemed to have accepted JIS's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We may modify this policy at any time by positing a revised Privacy policy on our website.

    Maintaining the privacy of your personal information is important to us.We are committed to taking appropriate measures to maintain and secure the information you submit to JIS.


  2. 1.      Capture and Use of Information

    The information we collect is categorized as follows: 

    The information fields displayed by the JIS site that have been uploaded from the school district's or school's database. This information includes such registration information regarding your children who are enrolled in the school as is provided to us by the school and any information or corrections you provide in using JIS's website. JIS stores your information on the JIS database.

    Application Information--information that you provide to us through our Web site and through other means. Examples include your physical address, zip code and phone number.

    Transaction and Experience Information--information about your transactions with us, as well as information about our communications with you. Examples include your account history, requests for information and our responses.

    Information from Outside Sources--information from outside sources regarding your background and other relationships. Examples include school registration information. 

    We may ask you for personally-identifying information at other times, such as if you enter into a promotion, communicate with us, or complete a survey. If you opt-in to receive information regarding a promotion, you give us your permission to share your name and e-mail address with the third party offering the promotion. 

    In addition, we automatically gather general statistical information about our website and visitors, such as IP addresses, browsers, pages viewed, number of visitors, but in doing so we do not reference you by individual name, e-mail address, home address, or telephone number. We use this data in the aggregate to determine how much our customers use parts of our site so we can improve our site. We may provide this statistical information to third parties, but when we do so we do not provide personally-identifying information without your permission.

    “Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Generally, cookies work by assigning to your computer a unique number that has no meaning outside of our site. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information; we use them for a variety of purposes such as personalization, navigating through our site and keeping track of your shopping cart. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that. This site will not work without cookies. These cookies are not long-term cookies and will be deleted when the browser is closed. Each time the user accesses the site, a new cookies is created.


    Stored Credentials--A secure digit wallet or “Stored Credentials” of payment card and banking information will be created for tuition payment plans.  Stored credentials permit tuition payment plan transactions to be processed based on the selected and agreed upon payment plan schedule and amounts. Email notification will be sent upon account validation.  Additional emails will be sent prior to tuition payments as reminders and notification will be sent upon payment processing.  Account detail and profile can be accessed in the tuition module.

    We may use your IP address to identify you, to administer our website and assist in diagnosing problems with our server.
     
    2.      Security

    Access to information stored on the JIS database will only be granted to parents authorized by the school district or school to access the information through a secure access key system and to school administration and individuals authorized by the school through a password system.

    JIS's database is hosted on a server located behind a firewall. For added security, all information transmitted by users is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology which allows all the information to be encrypted. No credit card or financial information is stored on JIS's database. Financial information is encrypted and transmitted directly from your computer to the processing service via a secure payment gateway. Although JIS uses a variety of industry-standard security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information, “perfect security" does not exist on the internet. Although your privacy is very important to us, due to the existing legal regulatory and security environment, we cannot fully ensure that your private communications and other personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to third parties. For example, JIS will disclose personal information about an individual user if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with an applicable law or valid legal process.


    1.      Use of Information

    JIS complies with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines governing online privacy, including, but not limited to California Education Code §49073.1, and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), 20 U.S.C. §1232(g), in fulfilling any obligations consented to and in receiving, confirming and using personal information of Students. For information regarding the use of student data collected through JIS and to access the privacy policy agreed upon between JIS and the school/district, please call the school/district directly.


    The information stored on the JIS database will not be transmitted, sold or rented to any third parties, other than the school district, the school and their authorized users without your authorization, except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy. Changes made to the current information on the site will be transmitted to the school. The school will then approve the changes. Until the information is transmitted to the school you can access and change the information that we maintain online through the updating process provided on JIS's website. Once updated information has been transmitted to the school, it can be updated only through the methods provided by the school.

    JIS does have access to the information you store on the JIS database. Only those JIS employees and tech support consultants who need it to perform their job responsibilities will have access to the information stored on the JIS database. Please note that this privacy policy applies only to JIS and its employees and consultants, and does not apply to other sites to which we link. We cannot guarantee or be responsible for the performance of third parties. These organizations will have their own privacy policies on their respective sites.

    2.      Children's Privacy Policy.

    The following sets forth the website information gathering and dissemination practices relating to children under the age of thirteen (13). This policy only applies to JIS's website and does not apply to third party websites, or to companies and persons that are not controlled, affiliated with or managed directly by JIS.

    JIS's website is intended for use by parents of students and not children. No individual under the age of thirteen (13) is permitted to provide any personal information.  JIS does not knowingly solicit personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13). Passwords or log on permissions are issued to parents only and parents may not permit any child under age 13 to access JIS's websites.


    3.      Legal Requirements

    Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, JIS may release your personal information to third parties: (a) in order to comply with a valid legal requirement such as in compliance with any law, regulation, search warrant subpoena or court order; or (b) in special cases, when we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding any illegal or unauthorized activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or violations of our Terms of Use.

    4.      Changes To Our Policy

    JIS reserves the right to modify or supplement this privacy policy at anytime. If we make any changes, we will update our website and this privacy policy to include such change(s). Please regularly review this privacy policy to keep up to date with any changes that may affect your use of the JIS's website. Your continue use of JIS's website once the revised privacy policy has been posted on JIS's website affirms your agreement to such changes.
